Event 6-12
Healthy Cooking and Active Living - Session B

Each session will include a hands-on activity in the kitchen, as well as a physical activity and stress reduction activity. In the kitchen, girls will have the opportunity to actively participate in preparing and cooking a meal to share with the whole group. Kitchen skills taught will include recipe reading, recipe math, knife skills, kitchen safety and food safety. Healthy living lessons will include basic nutrition, label reading activities, and ReThink Your Drink activities. Recipes and lessons will be tailored for each age group. Active living sessions will consist of a fun physical activity such as Zumba or active games. The sessions will also include stress reduction and mindfulness techniques such as stretching, yoga or relaxation activities. Each session will include a full lunch prepared by the “Girl Scout chefs” and will include a take home booklet of recipes, activities, lessons and, tips sheets.
